Four paws. An unbreakable bond Bespoke pet figures in needle-felted wool

Photographic admission protocol · Valid for cats, dogs and one-offs

How to photograph your companion so their soul lives in the wool.

We do not need professional sessions or studio cameras. We only need clean natural light, frames at the height of their eyes and enough sharpness to read the gradation of their coat, the line of their gaze and their secret markings.

File review with no obligation

Do you only have old photos, or has your companion already gone? Do not rule out your case: our team analyses WhatsApp files, scanned printed photos and phone screenshots before confirming any booking.

Anatomy in 4 Dimensions

The 4 frames essential for shaping

Each frame plays an irreplaceable technical role during the needling and fibre-blending process.

Recommended minimum resolution: 1200 x 1200 px

FRAME 01 · GAZE

Front portrait at the height of their eyes

What we are looking for:

Luna’s exact olive green with an amber halo, the white chest peeking under the chin, the dark “M” pattern on her forehead and her white whiskers with black roots.

Tip for your photos:

Get down to their eye level; avoid foreshortened shots that distort the distance between their eyes and ears.

Strict side profile of Luna. 02 / SILHOUETTE
FRAME 02 · PROFILE

Strict side profile (silhouette)

What we are looking for:

Luna’s profile showing the crisp white chest bib, the soft curve of the nasal bridge, the stop of the forehead and the base of her tabby ears.

Tip for your photos:

Place a treat or call their attention in front of a window so they keep their head raised and calm.

Top view of Luna’s back and tabby coat. 03 / COAT
FRAME 03 · BACK

Top view of the back and coat

What we are looking for:

The symmetry of Luna’s dark tabby coat from the nape (with the white neck ruff) to the black tip of her tail, essential for carding the wool.

Tip for your photos:

Take the photo from above while Luna is sitting or in sphinx pose with the tail extended or curled.

Detail of Luna’s paws and chest bib. 04 / QUIRK
FRAME 04 · MICRO-FEATURES

Intimate details (paws, chest)

What we are looking for:

The exact bow-tie shape of her immaculate white chest, her white paws with pink pads and the tabby flecks on her legs.

Tip for your photos:

Take advantage of when they are resting on linen or a blanket to photograph close up the contrast of white with brown.

Lighting and Framing Guide

What works vs. common mistakes

Small changes when taking the photograph help capture the true colour of the merino wool fibres.

Recommended practices

Good reference
  • Luz natural diurna difusa

Near a window or on a shaded balcony. Coat colours show in their purest, truest tone.

  • Sharp focus on the coat

Tap the screen on their face before shooting so the coat texture does not blur from movement.

  • Send 4 to 8 varied frames

Different postures and times of day help triangulate the real morphology of your pet without ambiguity.

  • Tomas espontáneas cotidianas

Photographs taken where they are comfortable in their favourite spot are usually the ones that capture their real temperament best.

What to avoid

Flattens the tone
  • Direct camera flash

It flattens the bone volumes and produces a reflective artificial shine that distorts the tone of the iris completely.

  • Social media filters or retouching

Warm or high-contrast filters distort the ash, cinnamon or chestnut tones we need to dye into wool.

  • Backlight and dense shadows

If the light is behind the cat, its silhouette goes solid black and the anatomy of the coat cannot be studied.

  • Top-down shots taken from far above

Taking the photo standing while the animal looks up at you makes the body look stunted and the head huge.

Handmade Documentation

How to write your trait sheet

The photographs are complemented by your words. You are the person who knows the secrets of their coat best: the notch in an ear, the tone of their paws or how their eyes change in midday sun.

When finalising the order you will have a dedicated field to enter each of these notes, which the master craftswoman will incorporate in wool.

Answering Doubts

Frequently asked questions about your images

No situation is foreign to us: every story and every file is unique.

What happens if my photos are not high enough quality?

We examine them carefully before formalising any charge. If clarity is missing on a particular angle or in the tone of the iris, we will write telling you precisely which shot is needed to reach the exact likeness.

My pet has passed and I only have old or low-resolution photos

We regularly work on posthumous memorials. We have recreated figures from family video captures or scanned paper photographs. We agree each uncertain area with you through guided, careful interpretation.

Do you accept videos as well as still photographs?

Absolutely yes! Short videos (5 to 15 seconds) where the cat walks, yawns or turns its head to the camera give the sculptor an incomparable three-dimensional understanding of its volume and coat fall.
